Meet Llewellyn Gurney
Clinical Mental Health Therapist
Llewellyn sees appointments in our Denver office.
Llewellyn is a dedicated somatic therapist with a Masters degree in counseling from Naropa University. He is certified in Somatic Experiencing® and has completed both Beginner 1 and 2 modules. Llewellyn provides body-centered and nervous system approaches, understanding clients' experiences through the lenses of attachment styles and internal family systems. Equal parts firm and gentle, he collaborates with clients to notice and enliven their strengths, purpose, and vision, helping them find both healing and thriving. Committed to continuous learning, Llewellyn is currently pursuing doctoral studies in psychology while seeing clients at Radical Healing in Denver, Colorado.
With a focus on men and veterans, Llewellyn draws from his own experiences as a former naval veteran who has faced various traumas, adversities, and near-death situations. Llewellyn understands the complexities of navigating the military, as well as integrating back into society after service, and is dedicated to supporting his fellow former servicemen and women in their healing journey. Llewellyn also has a particular gift for resourcing veterans through the VA system, assisting with housing, education, and vocational rehabilitation.
Additionally, Llewellyn guides men in discerning how aspects of masculinity serve or hinder them using Somatic Experiencing® and psychedelic modalities. Together identifying what to retain or discard in order to foster relational health. Masculinity is a significant aspect of our lives, and how we frame, communicate, and embody it profoundly impacts our relationships and overall well-being.
